Stating that large extents of government land have been encroached by individuals and organisations, TRS MLA K Taraka Rama Rao said his party’s government, which would begin functioning on June 2, would re-survey all the government lands in Telangana and take back the encroached lands.
He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of Telangana Tahsildars Association here on Sunday.
He said his party government would focus on good governance and provide clean and transparent administration.
“The people of the region gave a mandate to us and now we have a great responsibility to cater to their needs,” he remarked.
He said the people of Telangana have achieved self-governance and it is time that we work towards good governance and take the state on the path of development.
He said if the fruits of development have to reach the poorest of the poor, then we have to develop greater coordination among the officials of various departments.
“Until officials work in coordination, the benefits of welfare programmes and schemes would not reach the beneficiaries. Hence, efforts should be made to create greater coordination among field-level officials,” he observed.
He said the very objective of the Telangana movement was to provide good governance to the people of the region and to see that all the benefits reach the common man.
Expressing concern over growing corruption in politics, the TRS MLA said his party’s government would work towards containing political corruption in the state. “We would try to provide corruption-free administration and see that people get justice,” he remarked.
